Abstract
The aggressiveness of the patients is a frequent occurrence in the healthcare sector, it is responsible for the discontent of the nursing staff, as it threatens the working environment, compromising the effectiveness and efficiency of healthcare. The training for nurses, aimed to learn the communication techniques for de-escalation of aggression of patients (ACT-SMART), can improve the relationship with the patient limiting the use of traditional methods of physical and /or pharmacological restraint and promoting the use of a relational type restriction. The article seeks to emphasize how important it is to provide nurses with knowledge that will enable them to identify patients with the highest probability of developing aggressive behavior in order to prevent them, especially, in those structures where they are most likely to occur, such as in long-distance wards, in Spdc and in First Aid. The use of assessment scales of aggression can be a further method in that it allows you to identify personality traits at risk and / or how aggression is expressed. We want to highlight the importance of targeted training for all nurses, both for the knowledge of de-escalation techniques during the aggressive crisis of the patient and the recognition of the signs of excalation of anger, Of a psychodynamic approach to that patient in order to establish, together with him, an interaction relationship.
